Art from Christmas Carols (1957)

This was a new discovery while dragging out Christmas decorations. It is a 1957 music book for piano and guitar. Christmas Carols is filled with warm, cheery illustrations created by Eugenie ( this is the only name given in the book ). I have uncovered little information about Eugenie, but the style is very much like Mary Blair. Both represent classic 50's illustrator. Late 50's and 60's Art is very happy, colorful, and child like. The colors are usually very bright and soft. You may notice that all of these illustrations have the same basic palate of a golden-yellow, hot pink, peach, orange, a bright aqua blue, red, and green. Once you learn these distinctions it is easier to pick out  a work's era.

I'm sorry!!! I said my next post was going to be sharing my artwork, but I am debating how best to protect it. I am not sure if I want to get copyright. And if so, which one is best? So that post will be delayed.
It's important to protect your work and well worth the extra mile in doing so. I recently read an article at www.finearttips.com about the importance of copyrighting.
